Methodology

The foundation of Counselling or Coaching is the relationship between the guide and the person, based on a solid alliance and total confidentiality, in order to create an open and safe work space.
We use a holistic and systemic approach: considering the person as a whole, made up of thoughts-emotions-body sensations, in the context of the larger system in which they live and work.
As we work together you will discover many of my qualities: openness, curiosity, warmth, empathy, lovingness, courage, challenge, humour, playfulness (because we are serious, but not severe), and a lot of respect for you as a person (because in the end we are all ‘works in progress’).
The approach is solution-oriented: in fact, at the beginning we identify the goals of your journey, keeping in mind the general situation and the personal context.
The path begins with an initial one-hour meeting, which is useful for getting to know each other, we identify the important topics on which to work and the most appropriate methods and tools to work on them. At the end of the meeting, you will be offered a ‘plan’ which will lay out the goals, the methodologies we will use, and a rough estimate of the number of meetings necessary.

Humanistic and Positive psychology

The main cultural references are humanistic psychology and positive psychology, which, in different ways, have changed the approach to personal growth compared to more traditional methods, established in the medical arena.

Humanistic psychology has taught us to trust in the possibilities of the human being to grow and evolve towards self-realisation, to see the person as a whole, as an interconnection of body, emotions, and mind. It also reminds us that each individual has latent potential that can be developed in order to live more peacefully with themselves and with others. The key is therefore to stimulate the motivation for change, so that people become the ‘conductors’ of their own lives according to their most authentic needs, in a path that includes both the person and his or her relationships.

Positive psychology is based on the ideas of humanistic psychology and focuses on improving people’s lives and stimulating happiness. The key is therefore to have a clear and engaging purpose, to improve self-esteem, to develop personal resources and talents, to build nourishing relationships, and to live a meaningful life.
